SUMMARY:Ausstellung „SHAPESHIFTING“
DESCRIPTION:Ausstellung im Sonntags – Club Anfang November – Ende Dezember\n\n„SHAPESHIFTING“\n\n\nIn Shapelifting, Ayan documents the complexity of several moments of life, contexts, community woven together. His work explores the transness that is present in everything around us, that is the movable, immovable nature of the self and the cosmos. Of every object, the sentient – non sentient being.\n Ayan (he/him) is a trans artist, designer and activist who divides his time between India and Germany. His work explores identity and personal narratives by using a visual remnant or evidence of the contexts he works with. He is especially drawn towards patterns which to them communicates complex truths about the past, present and future.\n\n\nKünstler*in:\nAyan – www.ayanbythesea.com\n\nAyan (he/him) is a trans artist, designer and activist who divides his time between Goa and Munich. His work explores identity and personal narratives by using a visual remnant or evidence of the contexts he works with. He is especially drawn towards patterns which to them communicates complex truths about the past, present and future. Ayan draws from the liminalities of gender, and are an archiving process of documenting his own lived experience. Taking queues from the vibrant colours of South Asia to the Brutalism of Germany, Baroque of Southern European countries like Italy and Portugal. Ayan takes inspiration from the conversation of diversities between the East and the West, and works with the abundant paradoxes within the Indian subcontinent. He has worked as a social impact storyteller with organisations such as various United Nations bodies, Gates Foundation, FRIDA to name a few. He illustrated Skin Stories, an online zine about sexuality and disability, for almost four years and his work has been published in a book by the same name, and was part of Kadak Collective (A south asian collective of artists and writers). Apart from this he has illustrated for publishers like Penguin, HarperCollins and Westland Books. He created the archive, Imagining Utopias and is currently working on the archives New Mythologies and Diary of Ruptures. He is also the Founder, Director of Queer Art and Action.\n\n\nDrucke können direkt bei Ayan erworben werden (abfotografieren und anfragen):\nSee more of my work: ayanbythesea.com / instagram: @ayanbythesea\nget in touch: ayanbythesea@gmail.com\n\n
